Meet the Maker
Hi! My name is Belinda and I am the mama behind this small business. I'm fueled by cold brew coffee and my unexpected love of wooden toys. If you would have told me 2 years ago I would be a small business owner and be using power tools to make wooden toys, there is exactly zero chance I would have believed you. I'm clumsy by nature and power tools and clumsiness just don't mix...but I'm proud to say I've only sanded my fingernail off twice (so far)!
In what feels like a previous life, I was a social worker for child welfare for 5 years. I earned my masters degree in social work in 2012 and thought that would forever be my path. Then I had my first babe, Kenley Mae, and decided to stay home with her when she was 4 months old. 19 months after that, Sawyer Wren was born. As much as I loved being with my babes all day, I felt a bit lost and craved a creative outlet. When Sawyer was 4 months old, I hand cut her some wooden teethers, and the rest is history. The response from people who saw them was overwhelming, and less than a year later I had an official business and safety testing done on my teethers and toys. I am so lucky and thankful to be able to meld my two passions of social work and wooden toys together by donating a portion of each order to a featured non-profit each month.
I design and handcraft everything you see in the shop. My toy testers are my own babes (aside from the lab that tests for safety), and I take so much pride in providing heirloom quality items for your babes that can then be passed down to your grandbabes. Thank you for being here and supporting this passion of mine!
